New: The opening of the Lötschberg base tunnel in December 2007, brings the Valais considerably closer to the airports Zurich and Basel. Travel from Zurich to Zermatt in 3:14 hours (from Geneva 3:38 hours) or from Basel to Saas Fee in 2:58 hours (from Geneva 3.23 hours)
